Infant Massage Certification
Date: January 24-27 (Thurs-Sun)
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Prerequisite: BCMT graduate or 4th qtr. student; graduate of an approved 500-hour massage school; or other professional with appropriate credentials.

Infants are extremely sensitive to the environments they live in and to the state of mind carried by their parents. Students of this course will learn how to teach families to massage their infants guiding them into a state of calm and relaxation. They will learn infant psychology, the benefits of infant massage and specific strokes to use on infants. A parent/infant massaging session, using dolls as models, is included. Plus one whole day is spent with challenged populations (premature, abused, orphaned, crack/ cocaine, alcohol fetal syndrome babies, etc.). In addition, marketing techniques for infant massage will be taught. An individual exam and follow-up work will be given at the close of class. Certificates will be issued upon successful completion of all components of the training. An additional take-home exam and field-work will be required for certification. The take-home materials relate to work students will do on their own with five families and their infants. This work will ultimately be returned to the instructor who will then be responsible for issuing a certificate to those who successfully complete the course. The certificate issued is from Infant Massage USA, which is the UDS chapter of the International Association of Infant Massage based in Sweden.

Module 1: Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Renewal™
Date/Time: June 20-22 (Fri-Sun)/9:30a.m. – 5:30p.m.
This module is for L. Ac’s, MD acpuncturists, advanced students.
Constitutional Facial Acpuncture Renewal™ is a safe, painless and effective treatment for rejuvenating the face as well as the whole body. This class will teach the acpuncturist how to customize a treatment, by ascertaining the 5 Element constitution and meridian terrain involved in the aging process of the patient.

Module 2: Constitutional Facial Non-Needles Modalities & Herbal Adjunct Therapies
Date/Time: June 27-29 (Fri-Sun) 9:30a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
This module is for L. Ac’s, advanced students, bodyworkers, nurses, estheticians.
Participants will analyze facial wrinkles and choose acpuncture points based upon muscle and point function.

Pediatric Massage
Date: September 6-7 (Sat-Sun)
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Prerequisite: BCMT graduate or 3rd or 4th qtr. student; graduate of an approved 500-hour massage school.
Course Fee: $250 ($230 for AAM)

This class is designed to teach massage therapists how to safely and effectively work on children including those who are stressed, injured, have aches and pains, or have disabilities. Topics include growth and development, how injury can affect the child’s body, and how this shows up in the adult body. Learn how to engage and hold a child’s interest during massage sessions, how to perform a basic pediatric massage and how to tailor it to individual children. Students should be prepared to bring one or more children ages 3-14 to class on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
