1000-Hour CMT Program
The BCMT 1000-Hour Certificate program is one of the first of its kind and has set the framework for many other massage therapy programs and schools.
Graduating with a 1000-Hour Certificate in Massage Therapy gives you the flexibility to practice massage anywhere in the US and many places abroad. Each state is different in the number of hours of training it requires for therapists, but 1000 hours is the maximum. For information on becoming nationally certified following your graduation please visit the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork website.
The following modalities are the foundation of the program:
These courses are supported by course work in human sciences, psychology, ethics, and career development. In addition, BCMT offers electives in other popular massage modalities, bodywork techniques, and a variety of field internship opportunities. All learning takes place in a supervised classroom, clinic environment, or as internships where the student's learning experience is maximized.

Community Service:
These opportunities are designed to further develop the professional skills of our students and to reach out to those in the community who are unable to receive massage therapy at our Student Clinic or from a professional therapist. Community Service recipients include:
- Homebound individuals who have illness, injury, or disability
- Groups or events that are supporting health care causes
- Presentations about the benefits of massage
- Assisting with a publishable research study in Therapeutic Massage
Mentorship Program:
This one-on-one mentoring experience occurs between a fourth quarter student and a professional massage therapist. The mentor will advise, teach, and evaluate the student's competence as a future massage professional. BCMT graduates who have been practicing for a minimum of three years volunteer their valuable time to "give back to their profession" by supporting this unique curriculum requirement.
