why bcmt?

As the profession of massage therapy continues to grow, there are hundreds of massage schools that you can choose from. Unfortunately, many of these massage schools are becoming corporate ventures more interested in turning a profit than upholding the highest educational standards. To the contrary, the Boulder College of Massage Therapy (BCMT) has been an independent, not-for-profit massage school since its inception in 1975. The focus of our nationally acclaimed faculty and comprehensive curriculum has always been - and will always be - to provide a superior education for our students that opens the door for them throughout the world.

To learn more about why BCMT should be your massage therapy school of choice, please explore the information below or contact us today.

Diverse Core Curriculum and Advanced Degrees

In addition, we also offer Associate Degree and Continuing Education courses that allow you to explore new areas, expand your techniques and gain specialized certifications.

Nationally Recognized Educators

Our massage school faculty is truly dedicated to your educational needs. We have credentialed faculty members who possess extensive experience as skilled instructors, and several have been honored with the American Massage Therapy Association's Teacher of the Year award.

Unique Service Learning Opportunities
As a non-profit massage therapy school, our philosophy is based on a commitment to excellence, curriculum balance, and community involvement. As one of our students, you can take part in hundreds of community outreach efforts each year. Our service learning program allows you to explore various specializations while giving back to the local and global communities.

Campus Setting
Our 31,000 sq. ft. facility was specifically designed for comprehensive training in massage therapy. It includes a professional 12-room clinic, fully equipped spa training classroom, computer lab, reference library, student lounge and patio area, wellness bookstore, large group lecture rooms, and training classrooms with tables and futons.

Exceptional Clinic Experience
Our massage school students get the hands-on experience they need by providing massages and bodywork sessions to community members in our massage clinic. Students are instructed in how to work effectively in a professional atmosphere and develop skills in charting, assessment, massage treatment planning, and administrative functions.

Massage Research
Our massage school gained national recognition for its self-funded research on tension headaches (published in the American Journal of Public Health). Our efforts have set industry standards while providing valuable data to massage school educators, students, medical professionals and the general public.
