Body Blends Massage Therapy

My true love, passion and respect for Massage therapy began as professional track and field athlete. As a 2 time Olympic pole-vautler, massage was a major tool and resource for staying healthy and optimizing performance. Massage helped me sustain my athletic career for 12-years, through two Olympic Games, four World Championships, two Pan American Games, and two Goodwill Games. Massage helped me understand the true affect and power touch plays in physical and mental health. After retiring in September of 2006 I decided to pursue massage therapy at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy. I completed my Associates Degree in Massage therapy ( which is the highest education you can complete within the United States) with over 1500 hours in training and education. While at school I discovered a true passion for treatment-oriented work (Myofascial release, trigger point therapy, deep tissue, sports massage and over use injuries) and a “soft spot” for prenatal/postpartum/labor support and infant massage. My strength as a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist is my ability to connect with my clients and mold a session just for them. My treatment-oriented work has a specific and caring touch, embracing the mind, body and spirit. I often end my sessions with specific “take home” stretches and exercises to compliment the body work. I enjoy and offer a wide variety of modalities and love working with a wide variety of people and personalities! I also graduated with my bachelor’s in Communication from Arkansas State University in 1997. Other accomplishments: Member of the 1st Olympic team for women's pole vault, 98 & 06 US Champion, World Champion Silver medalist, Pan American Game Sliver Medalist, Ranked in the top three in the US for ten years, Ranked in the top ten in the world for five years, becoming a NCTMB,Prenatal/Postpartum/Labor Support Specialist I work at my practice "Body Blends Massage Therapy", two WEDNESDAY'S A MONTH @ 2955 Valmont rd.in BOulder CO., starting the 25th of June 2008!
