Robb Seal BA, NCMT
As a Practitioner of Therapeutic Bodywork, I strive to provide my clients and potential clients with a sense of well-being and reassurance regardless of the difficulties they may be experiencing. The style of bodywork I practice is client-focused, with specific techniques tailored to each individual. I offer the option of pursuing long-term goals through personalized, measurable treatment plans. My services include bodywork, recommendations on self-care, and honest communication for the purpose of promoting growth and understanding in those who desire to reach deeper levels of awareness regarding personal health. Through my work, I strive to take responsibility for helping to make the world I live in a better place! The work I do is based on fostering the most beneficial therapeutic relationship imaginable. The therapeutic relationship is so important because it is based on a mutual desire by both the practitioner and receiver to facilitate the state of health that comes naturally when intentions are set and those pathways are cleared. I specialize in helping people feel better. And because everyone is different, everyone responds to different techniques. And so I use a lot of different techniques. But the one thing people I work with have in common is a commitment to personal growth. The fact is, once that’s there, the actual technique just isn’t that important. I believe that when you’re committed to growth, there’s no limit to how much better you can feel. The techniques I incorporate into my practice are: - Swedish Massage - Zen Shiatsu and Qigong (based on principles from Eastern Medicine) - Deep Tissue Massage - Normalization of Soft Tissue (for body alignment, pain relief and improved performance) -Myofascial release, Trigger point therapy, Facilitated stretching, Neuromuscular techniques - Vibrational Massage (including work with the body’s bioelectromagnetic fields to contribute to improved balance and flow) - Integrative Massage (geared toward bringing a greater awareness to one’s whole being: body, mind and spirit) The key element in maximizing the effectiveness of these techniques is helping people bring their awareness into the present moment. Bodywork is most effective when all the energy you have available to you is with you in present time. I work with helping people do that, so their own natural healing abilities can take over. This is aided by a ritual space environment designed to foster deep relaxation, and eventually, transformation. Some methods I use are creative visualization, breathing exercises, and dialogue geared toward the slowing of mental chatter. Letting the present extend into the future, we move into the goal phase of the work. One of the most effective tools that clients can use is to take an active role in working toward growth and healing by setting goals that are specific, relevant, and timely, and pursuing them confidently. Identifying and working toward both short-term and long-range goals provides continuity, consistency and progress along a steady path toward lifelong healing.
