My love, passion and respect for Massage therapy began as a professional track and field athlete. As a two-time Olympian in Pole Vaulting, massage was a major tool and resource for staying healthy and optimizing performance. Massage helped me sustain my athletic career for 12-years, throughout two Olympic Games, four World Championships, two Pan American Games, and two Goodwill Games. As a result, massage was an essential part of my training and endurance throughout my numerous competitions. It also had a true affect and influence on my physical and mental health.
After retiring in September of 2006 I decided to pursue massage therapy at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy. I completed my Associates of Science degree with over 1500 hours in training and education. While at school I discovered a true passion for treatment-oriented work; such as Myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and Sports massage. I specialize in working with repetitive use injuries, and have a "soft spot" for prenatal/postpartum and infant massage.I also received my Prenatal/Postpartum/Labor Support Specialist Ceritfication. As a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and Body worker, my strenghts are my ability to connect with my clients and mold a session just for them. My treatment-oriented work has a specific and caring touch, embracing the mind, body and spirit. I often end sessions with specific "take home" stretches and exercises to compliment my body work.
I also graduated from Arkansas State University in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in Communications.
